An EV charging station (wallbox) is a wall-mounted Level 2 AC charger that safely charges an electric vehicle at home much faster than a standard domestic socket. This collection includes 7kW single-phase units for overnight charging, as well as 11kW and 22kW three-phase wallboxes, from brands including Wallbox, HYSUN and Aurora. • Match the power to your supply and vehicle — 7kW chargers run on a single-phase supply and suit most overnight charging, while 11kW and 22kW chargers require a three-phase supply and charge faster only if your EV supports them.
• Socket or tethered cable — tethered wallboxes include a fixed Type 2 cable for plug-and-go use, while socket models let you choose your preferred Type 2 charging cable length.
• Smart charging features — look for app control, dynamic load balancing, OCPP, RFID access and Wi-Fi if you want charging schedules, off-peak charging, access control or fleet management.
• Professional installation required — every wallbox must be installed by a certified electrician with the correct circuit protection and RCD. Three-phase units also require a suitable 400V supply.
• Subsidy-ready models — several charging stations qualify for government grants when configured with the required add-ons, reducing the overall purchase cost.
