Type 1 to Type 2 Charging Cables

Type 1 to Type 2 charging cables allow electric vehicles with a Type 1 inlet to charge from European Type 2 wallboxes and public AC charging stations. Type 1 is an older charging standard used primarily by American and Japanese vehicles, making these cables suitable for models such as the Nissan Leaf, Kia Soul EV and Chevrolet Volt, as well as some imported vehicles. This collection includes single-phase 7kW (32A) cables in 5m and 10m lengths, a coiled version, and Type 1 to Type 2 adapters for drivers who already own a Type 2 charging cable. • For Type 1 vehicles using Type 2 charging points — the vehicle end uses a Type 1 connector and the charging station end uses a Type 2 connector, allowing older vehicles to charge from Europe's standard AC charging network.
• Check your vehicle's inlet — models such as the Nissan Leaf, Kia Soul EV and Chevrolet Volt commonly use a Type 1 inlet. Most newer European EVs use a Type 2 inlet and require a Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable instead.
• Single-phase charging up to 7kW — Type 1 is a single-phase standard, so these cables support charging at up to 7kW (32A). Three-phase charging is not possible with a Type 1 inlet.
• Cable or adapter — choose a full Type 1 to Type 2 charging cable, or a compact adapter if you already own a Type 2 charging cable and want to save space.
